Linda Slasberg

Born in a snowstorm February 1947, raised and spent most of my life living in a London suburb in England my late husband and I emigrated to US.

Why do I create art? That's a good question, one that I have been asked more than once and have asked myself more than a few times. Very basically I love it; its fun.

Mostly self taught although I attended an art club for a while where I learned some valuable lessons - I create my artwork when I have the inspiration to do something specific. I don't paint every day unless I have something I am working on that excites me. It has to mean something to me. I do not take commissions, mainly because usually I can only create a piece of artwork one time. Rarely can I repeat it. I paint for me and me alone.

It all started with making beaded jewelery about 12 years ago, after I lost my husband to Cancer. I needed something to do!! That probably sounds very strange to most people when they more than likely have too much to do!! I am 65, just moved from the desert to Cottonwood, Arizona, live by myself. As well as painting, I recently started my own business editing and proofreading for writers and authors of all kinds and loving it.
